When I was thinking about this design, I wanted to make it more than just a self-portrait. I wanted to tell a story—one that reflects my growth, my creativity, and the journey I’m on as both a person and a designer.
At first glance, it may seem surreal: part of my face removed, replaced with lush green vines spilling out into the frame. But to me, that missing piece represents something deeper. It symbolizes how I’m constantly evolving, shedding old layers and allowing new parts of myself to grow. The vines, wild and vibrant, reflect creativity flourishing—ideas and dreams that I’m nurturing every day.
The saxophone, though not immediately obvious, is a quiet yet powerful symbol within my creative process. For me, music has always been a force of growth. It’s something I think about constantly, something that grounds and inspires me. Music, like design, tells stories that linger—it reminds us of moments, emotions, and places that shape who we are. When you hear a song, it stays with you, just like a meaningful design. It’s that same ability to evoke memory and connection that I strive for in my work.
The rich red background was intentional, too. I chose it to create a mood—a feeling of passion, intensity, and energy. It’s a reminder that behind every project I create, there’s heart and purpose. I strive to put meaning into my work, whether it’s for myself or for a client.
From a technical perspective, this piece challenged me to push my Photoshop skills further. Blending photography with organic elements like plants required precision and patience—a skill I’ve worked hard to hone. I wanted the final result to feel polished but still raw and human, which reflects the kind of designer I hope to be. I value both craft and connection.
